The successful applicant will be a broadly-trained plant biologist/botanist.
Essential Duties: Teaching assignment will include the following: 1) Botany, 2) a specialty class in the successful candidate's area of expertise, and 3)introductory-level major's and non-major's lecture and lab courses or other areas of the current curriculum that require support.
Additional responsibilities include student advisement, service to the department and the university, and other scholarly activities normally associated with the department.
Specific Duties: This position may require development and teaching of courses online.
Minimum Qualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Earned Ph.D. in Plant Biology/Botany is required for appointment at Assistant Professor.
A terminal degree is required for tenure track appointment. If a candidate without an appropriate terminal degree is selected, the position will be temporary for one year and appointment level will be Instructor.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate well and/or perform well in an interview or teaching demonstration and successfully complete the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, responsiveness to student needs, effective communication skills, professional development, and be able to direct undergraduate research projects.
Candidates should have college undergraduate teaching experience which may include Teaching Assistantship experience.
