HIV/HepC Risk - STDs - MedHelp

A year and half ago you asked questions about superficial, non-risky events in a strip club.??Here is the main part of the answer I gave then:

"No STDs are transmitted by hand-genital contact, exposure to genital secretions through superficial contact, or through clothing.??Nobody ever caught an STD from a strip club unless there was unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex in the club.??And probably no STDs have ever been transmitted by lap dance."

Common sense and logic tell you that the same answer obviously applies to all nonsexual exposures.??For there to be a risk of a blood-borne infection from this event, the sharp area would have to be wet with obvious, large amounts of blood.??Even then, with the superficial scrape you describe, there probably would have been no risk.

So no risk, no worries.??Do not get tested for HIV, hepatitis, or anything else.??I am, however, concerned that you may be abnormally worried about contamination in the environment.??If such worries are having a negative impact on your life, consider professional counseling.??This symptom -- abnormal fear of contagion -- sometimes is a sign of potentially serious mental health disability.??(See "The Aviator", the film biography of Howard Hughes, for an excellent example.)

There won't be any further discussion on this thread.??There is no additional information you can provide that would change my opinion or advice.??Good luck to you.
